Join us!
There are lots of ways to join Sweet Adelines. You can join an existing chorus or quartet, or even start one of your own! Other membership options include 'chapter-at-large' and 'member-at-large', for people who would like to be members but are either too remote or don't have the time to join a chorus.
For more information about joining Sweet Adelines, look for a chorus or quartet near you, or contact us for more information.
Choruses
There are now 30 chartered choruses in the Southern Cross Region, with another 3 prospective choruses working towards their charter. A chartered chorus has more than 15 members, performs above a standard musical level and is administratively sound. For more information on your group becoming affiliated, contact us.
Most choruses are delighted to have visitors at their rehearsals - we all work better with an audience! So if you are interested in hearing what barbershop is all about (and hopefully once you've heard, you'll be hooked), why not visit a chorus near you?
Quartets
To become an active, registered quartet in Australia, you must first register your quartet's name and members to the International organisation. The Region requires that a quartet be auditioned by the Education Coordinator (or her representative) to ensure the name Sweet Adelines is being well represented. Once this audition has been passed, the quartet is free to perform in public under the name Sweet Adelines.
